J.S.Harry, Public Private

J.S. Harry was born in South Australia and has lived most of her life in Sydney. She published her first poetry collection, Deer Under the Skin in 1971. Since then she has published seven further collections and gone on to become one of the most critically acclaimed and original poets of her generation, if not one of the major Australian poets of this century, winning the Harri Jones Memorial Prize, the Poetry Society’s Book of the Year, the PEN International Lyne Phillips Prize and the Kenneth Slessor Prize. Public Private is her first volume since the award-wining Not Finding Wittgenstein (Giramondo, 2007), which was also published in Britain by Bloodaxe (2012).
