  • Welcome to the new Vagabond Press Website

Welcome to the new Vagabond Press site, just in time for the October release of the first full-length collections of poetry from Ali Cobby Eckermann and Jess Wilkinson, the first full-length collections in English from Yan Jun (China) and Jan-Willem Anker (Netherlands), and the first new full-length collection of poetry from Lionel Fogarty in many years.

We hope you enjoy browsing through our backlist and enjoy the beautiful cover art by Kay Orchison and others, running back to 1999 when we started off rambling for no better reason than having a desktop printer, good friends, a couple good manuscripts and a crazy hankering to publish poetry. Over ten years on and we're still working as a co-operative with the four of us volunteering our time and effort and the writers trusting us with their work.

Even for the new website, we're still not a business. Not in the usual sense. The real profit, the only real profit is in the books. We hope the site will make it easier for readers to find our writers' work, and we do hope you'll chip in and buy a book or two so that we can keep on publishing and promoting some of the most risk-taking and engaged new writing from Australia and Asia Pacific.

Please join our mailing list and we'll keep you posted on our upcoming releases, including our new Asian Pacific Poetry series, our December release of new Rare Objects from L.K.Holt, Jane Gibian, Stuart Cooke and Astrid Lorange, and the release in 2013 of Adam Aitken's first prose book 100 Letters Home.

Every book you buy helps us to publish a new title and bring you some of the most interesting writing from the Asia Pacific region.
