We're in the process of trying to set up a small, functional, somewhat experimental letterpress workshop. Way back last century we started with a chapbook series called the Rare Objects, which were as labour intensive as they were beautiful.
Next year we're aiming to go back to our cottage industry roots, making chapbooks, broadsides, ephemera with these two little guys. They're Adanas 8x5s made in England in the 1970s, who we're calling The Twins. Using a mix of handset type and polymer plates and recycled paper, and collaborating with poets and writers from around the world.
The initial set-up costs are a bit beyond us, but we're doubling down on a love of the handmade, the economically irrational, the slowly beautiful made. If you'd like to chip, we'd love your help and once we're up and running will send you some limited unusual handprinted wonder in thanks.
We need to raise around $10,000 in all to get the workshop together, so every bit will help.
