Adam Aitken, Impermanence.com

Love lost in a student terrace; a religious blackout in Bali; ‘romance and regrets / the endless paperwork we left behind.’ Adam Aitken is a poet who travels reluctantly, for these are poems that meditate on the icons of human devotion: a child’s grandmother, a Hindu temple, an Australian War monument, or a bicycle.

“Relaxed and rigorous…Simultaneously familiar and fresh” – Greg McClaren, Jacket

Adam Aitken was born in London. He has enjoyed many foreign residencies and workshops in Hong Kong and Hawai’i. He teaches Creative writing and English at the University of Technology, Sydney, and is the author of Romeo and Juliet in Subtitles, In One House and Eighth Habitation.
