Sumudu Samarawickrama is a poet and fiction writer from Werribee. Her work has appeared in Foam:e, Overland, Pencilled-In, and Boston Review. She was shortlisted for the 2017 Judith Wright Poetry Prize, and the Lord Mayor’s Creative Writing Awards 2017. She is fascinated with the structures that underpin our society and how to use art to powerfully challenge the status quo. She is on a journey to decolonise her soul. Sumudu is currently part of Footscray Community Arts Centre's West Writer's Group, and is working on a short story collection of surrealistic science fiction.
