Judith Bishop, Aftermarks
Aftermarks is a collection of poems about encounters, the impressions they leave – and the unbridgeable interval that exists between any two beings when they meet, however intimate they are.
"[Bishop's] poetry's quiet humility counts as one of its foremost attractions. An authentic and unsentimental belief in the capacity for tenderness between creatures lies at the heart of Bishop's writing." Oliver Dennis, Times Literary Supplement.
Judith Bishop works as a Principal Linguist at a speech technology company. Her first collection of poems, Event, was published by Salt Publishing in 2007 and won the Anne Elder award. She lives in Sydney with her husband and two young daughters.
