  • Description

Mikael de Lara Cos poetry is decidedly Filipino in scope, vision and heart. Writing of the pre-colonial and the colonial experiences, the poet pieces together the dream of a nation from all its broken materials. Cos project has made him one of the strongest contemporary Filipino poets.

Mikael de Lara Co grew up in Sta. Cruz, Manila, and now lives in Pasig City with his wife and two cats. He has a BS in Environmental Science from Ateneo de Manila U. He has numerous awards for his poetry: the Palanca, first prize (2007, in English; 2008, in Pilipino), and third prize (2014) for a yet unpublished manuscript, This Tender Gravity; the Maningning Miclat Awards, first prize (2009 and 2011); the Free Press, third prize (2009).
